Edward Morgan Forster (1897-1970), einer der bedeutendsten englischen Prosaisten des 20. Jahrhunderts und längst ein Klassiker der englischen Literatur, erlangte mit "Auf der Suche nach Indien", dem wohl berühmtesten Indien-Roman des 20. Jahrhunderts, Weltruhm. Zu seinem Werk gehören fünf weitere Romane, Erzählungen und Essays. Nach längeren Aufenthalten in Indien lebte er von 1927 bis zu seinem Tod in Cambridge.Biografie (Pankaj Mishra)
