Biografie
David Guterson wurde 1956 in Seattle geboren. Er wuchs dort auf und studierte American Literature an der University of Washington. 1984 entfloh Guterson der Hektik der Großstadt auf eine kleine Insel im Puget Sound und lebt seitdem mit seiner Frau Robin und seinen vier Kindern auf Bainbridge Island, wenige Meilen von Seattle entfernt. Zehn Jahre lang arbeitete Guterson als Lehrer für Geographie und Englisch an der örtlichen Bainbridge High School. Neben Romanen veröffentlichte er Erzählungen und Artikel in diversen Magazinen.
