Biography
Dale Carnegie, geboren 1888, ist der Inbegriff des erfolgreichen amerikanischen Selfmade-Mannes. Aufgewachsen in sehr bescheidenen Verhältnissen, erkämpfte er sich Schulunterricht und Pädagogikstudium. Kurz vor Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkrieges begann er in New York mit großem Erfolg Seminare durchzuführen. Ab den 1930er Jahren erschienen seine Bücher, die zu Bestsellern wurden. Dale Carnegie starb 1955.§Treffend wurde Carnegies Wirken in einem Artikel charakterisiert, der nach seinem Tod in einer Washingtoner Zeitung erschien: "Carnegie wußte, was er tat, und er tat es mit erstaunlichem Erfolg.
