Biography
Charles Brockden Brown, geboren 1771 als Sohn einer Quäker-Familie aus Philadelphia. Seine Pläne, Rechtsanwalt zu werden, gab er aus moralischen Erwägungen auf und wurde einer der ersten amerikanischen Berufsschriftsteller. Romanveröffentlichungen sowie Herausgabe mehrerer Zeitschriften.
