Across the Solar System, the rings are a convenience and a safeguard. On Uranus, they are also a leash.

During the Grand Equinox, the entire society of Uranus is set to teleport together to the opposite pole, the completion of a forty-two-year cycle.

Instead, Frid finds himself standing outside Mercury City.

The bustling heart of the United Solar System sprawls before him, impossibly real. He has no idea how he crossed the distance between planets, only that he isn't supposed to be here. When a stranger offers guidance, Frid blindly accepts.

But the deeper he stumbles through Mercury's dangers and wonders, the more unsettling the questions become. How did he get here? Who can he trust? And what does it mean when he reaches for the life he's always wanted and it reaches back?

The Moving City begins the Frid the Fool series. Mirroring The Fool's Journey, Frid travels across the Solar System from the life he was assigned toward the person he was meant to become.
