In response, the Death Commandos were created, each Generation geared with cutting-edge technology and trained with cold-blooded efficiency to protect Humankind from the intergalactic alien threat. These super soldiers waged a brutal, continuous war against the enemies of mankind. But after fifteen years, 1st Generation Death Commando Kronos, leader of the famed Hades Squad, is having second thoughts. And his final mission will cost him everything.

Or so he thinks.

Kronos must start anew in the newborn body of an alien race. Life as he once knew it is over, and yet this second chance gifts him with experiences and emotions he's never felt before. Now, as Kaladin Shadowheart, he'll have to master magic, train in ancient spear techniques, and navigate the daily trials that come with having a family.
