Biography
Audre Lorde, 1934 in Harlem geboren, war eine US-amerikanische Dichterin, Theoretikerin und Aktivistin. Zwischen 1984 und 92 verbrachte sie jedes Jahr mehrere Monate in Berlin, u. a. als Gastprofessorin an der FU Berlin. Audre Lorde verfasste mehrere Gedicht- und Essaybände sowie autobiographische Werke. Sie wurde mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet. Audre Lorde starb 1992 an ihrer Krebserkrankung. Im Hanser Verlag erschien der Essayband Sister Outsider (2021).
