Biography
Alfred Einstein, 1880 in München geboren, 1952 in El Cerrito, Kalifornien, gestorben, war ein Vetter Albert Einsteins. Er emigrierte 1933 und lebte seit 1939 in den USA, wo er von 1940 bis 1950 als Professor für Musikwissenschaften u.a. an der Princeton und der Yale University und dem Julius Hart College of Music in Hartford, Connecticut, lehrte. Mit zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen und Editionen leistete er einen bedeutenden Beitrag zum Verständnis der vorklassischen, klassischen und romantischen Musik.
