Biography (Aesop)
Aesop lebte nach Angaben Herodots um die Mitte des 6. Jh.v.Chr. auf Samos. Sicheres über die Person Aesop ist nicht bekannt. Es wird vermutet, dass er ein griechischer Sklave war. Er gilt als Begründer der Fabeldichtung. Seine volkstümlichen Fabeln wurden zunächst mündlich überliefert und erst Jahrhunderte später aufgezeichnet. Unter "Aesop'schen Fabeln" versteht man heute eine bestimmte Art der Erzählung über Wahrheitslehren oder moralische Inhalte.Notes:
