Biography (Terry Pratchett)
Sir Terry Pratchett, the author of over three dozen novels, is one of the worlds best-selling novelists writing in the English language. His books have sold more than 65 milllion copies worldwide. In addition to his phenomenaland hugely popularDiscworld series for adults, Terry is the beloved author several childrens books. He was awarded Britains highest honor for a childrens novel, the Carnegie Medal. In 2008, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to literature. Terry lives in England, where he writes all the time. Regina Rawlinson, geboren 1957 in Bochum, studierte Anglistik, Amerikanistik und Germanistik sowie Literarisches Übersetzen aus dem Englischen. Seit 1988 übersetzt sie englische Belletristik ins Deutsche, u. a. Peter Carey, John le Carré und Lauren Weisberger. Sie ist Lehrbeauftragte für Literarisches Übersetzen an der LMU München und Vorsitzende des Münchner Übersetzer-Forums e.V .. Sie erhielt mehrere Arbeitsstipendien des Deutschen Übersetzerfonds e.V. , unter anderem für Zurück auf Glück von Patricia Marx. 2011 wurde ihr zudem das Arbeitsstipendium des Freistaates Bayern für literarische Übersetzerinnen und Übersetzer gewährt.
