Marla Frazee hat zahlreiche Bücher illustriert und textet eigene Bilderbücher; außerdem unterrichtet sie Kinderbuchillustration am Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Kalifornien. Ihr Atelier ist eine kleine Holzhütte unter einem Avocadobaum. Marla Frazee ist verheiratet und hat drei Söhne.
