Biografie (James Boswell)
James Boswell, geboren 1740 in Edinburgh als Sohn eines Richters. Brach Jurisprudenzstudium ab, um Deutschland, Frankreich, die Schweiz und Italien zu bereisen. Bekanntschaft mit Rousseau und Voltaire. In London suchte er die Karriere in der Politik. Seine letzten Jahre waren geprägt von Krankheit und Depressionen, der Autor verstarb 1795 in London.
