Noam Chomsky hat seit den sechziger Jahren unsere Vorstellungen über Sprache und Denken revolutioniert. Zugleich ist er einer der schärfsten Kritiker der gegenwärtigen Weltordnung und des US-Imperialismus. Ilan Pappe ist Professor am Institut für Arabische und Islamische Studien an der University of Exeter, England, Direktor des Europäischen Zentrums für Palestine Studies in Exeter und der Co-Direktor des Zentrums für Exeter Ethno-politische Studien. Er war der akademische Leiter und Gründer des Instituts für Friedensforschung in Givat Haviva, Israel (1992-2000) und der Vorsitzende des Emil Touma-Instituts für palästinensische Studien in Haifa (2000-2008). Seine Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Neuere Geschichte des Nahen Osten, hier insbesondere auf die Geschichte Israels und Palästinas.
