Jared Diamond, geb. 1938 in Boston, ist Professor für Geographie an der Universität von Kalifornien in Los Angeles. Für seine Arbeit auf dem Feld der Anthropologie und Genetik ist Jared Diamond vielfach ausgezeichnet worden.
