Biografie

Grazia Deledda wurde am 27. September 1875 in Nuoro auf Sardinien geboren. Seit 1900 in Rom lebend, zählte sie zu den bedeutendsten Autorinnen des Naturalismus innerhalb der italienischen Literatur. In ihren Werken schilderte sie das harte Leben der Menschen Sardiniens. Schauplatz ihrer späteren Werke ist Italien, jedoch immer mit Bindung an ihre Heimat. 1926 erhielt sie den Nobelpreis für Literatur. Sie starb am 15. August 1936 in Rom.
