Das Album zeigte das Wachstum und die Entwicklung der Band, indem es den Gesang und andere und andere Experimente, um ihren Sound zu verbessern. »Around the Bend« wurde sowohl von der Kritik als auch kommerziell gut aufgenommen und erreichte 1983 die Spitze der College-Charts.
