Nach diversen Top-50-Alben in der Schweiz und einer Grammy-Nominierung erscheint das lang erwartete neue Album von Brandi Carlile. Aufgenommen im historischen RCA Studio in Nashville beinhaltet By The Way, I Forgive You zehn neue Songs, allesamt geschrieben von Carlile und ihren Langzeit-Bandkollegen Tim und Phil Hanseroth.
Im Hinblick auf ihre enge Verbundenheit sagt Brandi: »Die Zwillinge und ich sind nun schon so lange in einer Band. Und nicht nur eine Band, wir sind wortwörtlich eine Familie. Wenn man mit den Beiden Kunst erschafft, dann ist nicht ganz klar, wo ich aufhöre und sie beginnen.«
Zusätzlich zu Carlile (Vocals, Gitarre, Piano), Tim Hanseroth (Vocals, Bass), Phil Hanseroth (Vocals, Gitarre), Cobb (Gitarre, Percussions) und Jennings (Piano, Orgel) featured das neue Album ebenfalls Chris Powell (Drums), Josh Neumann (Cello), John Mark Painter (Horn) sowie Streicherarrangements des späten Paul Buckmaster (Elton John, The Rolling Stones).
Seit Beginn ihrer Karriere veröffentlichte die Band sechs Alben, darunter das 2015er Werk The Firewatcher's Daughter, welches eine Grammy-Nominierung für das »Best Americana Album« einheimste.
