„The Fog – Nebel des Grauens“ war ein würdiger Nachfolger für John Carpenters Kinohit „Halloween“. Der Erfolgsregisseur zeichnete bei Veröffentlichung des Horrorfilms zusätzlich als Drehbuchautor und Soundtrack-Komponist verantwortlich. Der atmosphärische Synthesizer-Score wurde zudem von Carpenter selbst eingespielt.
Dieses 2-CD-Set enthält sowohl eine mittlerweile erweiterte Version aus dem Jahr 2000 plus den kompletten von Originalbändern remasterten Original-Score.
