Im März feierte Elton John seinen 70. Geburtstag. Außerdem jährt sich 2017 bereits zum 50. Mal die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Songtexter Bernie Taupin. Zwei gute Gründe, einige Klassiker des britischen Sängers und Komponisten neu aufzulegen, und zwar auf Vinyl.

»The Big Picture« ist das 26. Studioalbum Elton Johns. Es erschien ursprünglich am 22. September 1997 und landete in Großbritannien auf Platz neun der Charts. In Österreich und der Schweiz konnte es sich allerdings auf der Eins platzieren.

Zu den Singles von »The Big Picture« gehören die Songs »Live Like Horses«, »Something About The Way You Look Tonight«, »Recover Your Soul« und »If The River Can Bend«.

Für das Vinylreissue wurde das Album 2017 von den analogen Originalbändern durch Bob Ludwig (Gateway Mastering) remastert und von Sean Magee in den Abbey Road Studios geschnitten.
