The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Zum Zeitpunkt dieser Aufnahme aus dem Jahr 1957 erholte sich der US-amerikanische Saxophonist Arnett Cobb noch immer von einem schweren Autounfall. 1959 spielte er für Prestige gleich drei starke Alben ein, darunter Party Time. Begleitet wird Cobb von Pianist Ray Bryant, Bassist Wendell Marshall, Schlagzeuger Art Taylor und Ray Barretto an den Congas. Titel wie When My Dreamboat Comes Home, Blues in the Closet und Flying Home machen dieses Album zur ersten Wahl.
Das Remastering der Stereo-Hybrid-SACD für Analogue Productions übernahm Kevin Gray. Unbedingte Empfehlung für alle Jazzhörer!
