Der 1907 in Kiew geborene klassische Dirigent Anatole Fistoulari interpretierte nicht nur hervorragend Arbeiten von Tschaikowski, der Russischen Schule und romantischer wie impressionistischer französischer Werke, er machte sich auch als Spezialist für Ballettmusiken einen Namen. Diese 1960 veröffentlichte Aufnahme enthält Auszüge aus Wilhelm Tell, Chowanschtschina, Aida und Samson und Delilah.
Die mitreißende Einspielung des Paris Conservatoire Orchestra unter Fistoulari im La Maison de la Chimie in der französischen Hauptstadt wurde von Deccas meisterhaftem Toningenieur Kenneth Wilkinson eingefangen. Das Remastering für Analogue Productions verantwortet Willem Makee.
