Marais, Forqueray, Sainte-Colombe – alles schön und gut, doch ohne die drei Sonaten für Viola da gamba und Cembalo von Johann Sebastian Bach wäre das barocke Repertoire um drei Gipfelwerke ärmer. Dies kann freilich nur eine absolute Spitzenbesetzung verdeutlichen, wie sie die vorliegende Einspielung darstellt. Vittorio und Lorenzo Ghielmi überzeugen einmal mehr durch ihre einzigartige Musikalität, die keiner Mätzchen oder Manierismen bedarf um uns zu fesseln und Aufhorchen zu lassen.
