Formed from the ashes of underground 60's blues bands Growth, Stevensons Blues Department and Bum, Basildon based "The Iron Maiden" were never destined to achieve their full potential. Captured on Maiden Voyage is a glimpse into what could have been, were they given the chance to develop. Alongside their stunning psychedelic rock 45 Falling / Ned Kelly, we have gathered together tracks from the infamous Bum demo, including the classic occult-rock anthem God of Darkness; a true gem of proto Doom Metal! The Iron Maiden were dabbling with the black arts before even Black Sabbath and key members went on to record with revered early 70's occult progressive rock bands Zior and Monument. For the first time ever we have managed to locate the original master tapes and restore the audio of their 1970 album demos, which were never completed. This Rise Above Relics release is by far the most superior sounding edition of Maiden Voyage yet. 100% official release, fully authorized by the band. Analogue transfer from original tapes. Contains booklet with many unseen photos from the bands members personal archives.
