Es ist ein festlicher Akt, ein schwedisches Großereignis, eine feierliche Ehrung der Wissenschaften und Künste: Als fester Bestandteil der offiziellen Nobel-Woche versammeln sich jedes Jahr renommierte Künstler aus aller Welt in Stockholm, um die Nobelpreisträger zu ehren. Im Jahr 2010 hatte man den US-amerikanischen Star-Geiger Joshua Bell eingeladen, um mit dem Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra unter der Leitung des finnischen Dirigenten Sakari Oramo beim Nobelpreiskozert für ein erstklassiges musikalisches Programm zu sorgen.
