Sol Gabetta ist einer der großen Stars der Klassik: gerade wurde die charmante Cellistin mit dem Echo Klassik Preis als »Instrumentalistin des Jahres« ausgezeichnet. Ihre »Progetto Vivaldi« CDs mit dem von ihr und ihrem Bruder gegründeten Ensemble Cappella Gabetta gehören zu den absoluten Klassik-Bestsellern. Auf »Progetto Vivaldi 3« präsentiert Sol Gabetta acht wunderschöne italienische Konzerte des Barock: Zwei Konzerte stammen von Antonio Vivaldi, zudem hat Gabetta das großartige Mandolinen-Konzert Vivaldis für ihr Instrument, das Cello, eingerichtet und eingespielt. Besonders interessant sind die selten zu hörenden Konzerte von italienischen Meistern: zwei Cello-Konzerte von Giovanni Platti, eines von Andrea Zani und als Highlight die Welt-Ersteinspielung des Cello-Konzertes in G-Dur von Fortunato Chelleri. Platti und Chelleri arbeiteten ab 1722 in Würzburg als Hof-Kapellmeister und schrieben für den Grafen von Schönborn, einem begeisterten Cellisten, zahlreiche Werke. Sol Gabetta entdeckte die Noten für ihre Neuaufnahme in der Musikaliensammlung des Grafen von Schönborn in Schloss Wiesentheid bei Würzburg.
