The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.

Verdis Oper Attila war bei der Uraufführung 1846 im Teatro La Fenice in Venedig ein veritabler Erfolg und festigte seinen Ruf als der Opernkomponist der (damals) jungen Generation. Ausgangspunkt der Oper sind Attilas Pläne, Rom mit seiner Armee von Hunnen zu erstürmen und die verzweifelten Versuche der Römer, dies zu verhindern. Wie schon beim Nabucco und I Lombardi fügte Verdi auch hier in den Opernverlauf einige patriotische Chöre ein, die, vor dem Hintergrund der italienischen Einigungsbewegung, die politischen Sehnsüchte der damals zersplitterten Nation widerspiegelten.
Die Aufführungen im Teatro Comunale von Bologna 2016 wurden von der Presse hochgelobt. Besonders die Solisten Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Fabio Sartori und Simone Piazzola wurden für ihre stimmliche Brillanz und Authentizität gelobt. Die Sopranistin Maria José Siri wurde als »wahre Kriegerin« hervorgehoben, die »mit ihrer Stimme, jedes einzelne Gefühl in jeder Note der Oper auszudrücken vermag« (La Repubblica). Der Dirigent Michele Mariotti leitet das Ensemble sicher durch Verdis Musik; die gelungene, zeitgemäße aber nicht überzeichnende Inszenierung von Daniele Abbado rundet das positive Gesamtbild ab.
