»Mitologia« heißt die letzte Händel-Aufnahme des großartigen Alte-Musik-Spezialisten, Cembalisten und Dirigenten Alan Curtis, der im Juli 2015 in Florenz verstorben ist.

»Mitologia« vereint Arien, Duette und Instrumentalsätze aus Werken Georg Friedrich Händels, die allesamt auf der griechischen und römischen Mythologie basieren. Die Musik von tragischen Charakteren, Heldinnen und Helden wie Herkules, Semele oder Parthenope. Die Solisten sind die Sopranistin Christiane Karg, einer der gefragtesten lyrischen Soprane unserer Tage, sowie die italienische Altistin Romina Basso. Alan Curtis leitet sein Orchester »Il Complesso Barocco«.
