Überraschend vielfältig und hart: Machine Head starten ins neue Metaljahr
Seit mehr als 25 Jahren sind Machine Head nun bereits ein fester Bestandteil der Metalwelt. Das heißt aber nicht, dass die Band nicht immer noch für Überraschungen sorgt. Im Gegenteil: Mit »Catharsis« legen Robert Flynn und Co. 2018 ihr bis dato facettenreichstes und wahrscheinlich härtestes Album vor.
Ganze 15 Songs haben sie dafür aufgenommen. Und die zeigen ihre große Bandbreite, ihre volle Härte, aber auch ihre melancholische Seite. Hörbar werden Einflüsse aus Folk, Grunge, Doom, Crossover und Rap. Natürlich stets im unverkennbaren Thrash-Metal-Gewand.
Für den richtigen Klang von »Catharsis« sorgte dabei neben der Band Produzent Zack Ohren. Die Aufnahmen fanden erneut in den Sharkbite-Studios in Oakland statt, wo bereits die Meilensteine »Through The Ashes Of Empires« und »The Blackening« entstanden.
Mit dem Titelsong »Catharsis« gab es bereits im Dezember 2017 einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf das neue Album.
Das erste Metalhighlight des Jahres ist eine echte Überraschung: »Catharsis« von Machine Head.
