Mary Frances “Debbie” Reynolds (01.04.1932 - 28.12.2016) ist eine amerikanische Schauspielerin, Sängerin, Geschäftsfrau, Filmhistorikerin und Philanthropin gewesen. Mit ihrer ersten Hauptrolle als Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain (1952) hatte sie ihren Durchbruch. Weitere Erfolge waren The Affairs of Dobie Gillis (1953), Susan Slept Here (1954), Bundle of Joy (1956, Golden Globe nominiert), The Catered Affair (1956) und Tammy and the Bachelor (1957), bei dem ihre Performance des Songs “Tammy” Platz 1 der Billboard Music Charts erreichte. 1959 veröffentlichte sie ihr erstes Popmusik Album Debbie. Reynolds war bis in ihre Achtziger erfolgreich auf der Bühne sowie in TV und Film.
Am 28. Dezember 2016 verstarb Reynolds nur einen Tag nach dem Tod ihrer Tochter Carrie Fisher. Diese CD ist eine Widmung an Debbie Reynolds mit Tracks aus ihren Film-Soundtracks, dem Originalalbum Fine and Dandy und weiteren Album und Single Tracks. Verschiedene schwer erhältliche 45s sind ebenfalls enthalten: “Faces There Are Fairer”, “Hungry Eyes”, “It Looks Like Rain In Cherry Blossom Lane”, ”Wall Flower”, ”All Grown Up”, “Just A Little Girl (In Love)”, “Hillside In Scotland”, “Satisfied - Part II”, “Lonely People” und “Right Away”.
