Mit dieser Produktion beginnt CHANDOS eine dreiteilige Reihe mit Orchesterwerken des argentinischen Komponisten Alberto Ginastera, dessen 100. Geburtstag in diesem Jahr gefeiert wird. Auch wenn er seine Inspiration aus der präkolumbianischen Vergangenheit seines Landes und der weiten ursprünglichen Landschaft seiner Heimat schöpfte, so ist Ginasteras Musik doch weit entfernt von jeglicher gefälliger Tümelei. Die drei hier vorgestellten Werke stehen exemplarisch für eines der faszinierendsten Œuvres im Bereich der lateinamerikanischen Musik und werden dank Juanjo Mena und dem BBC Philharmonic zu einem rauschenden Fest der Orchestermusik.
