Tamsin Grimmer: Behaviour Strategies Explained, Gebunden

Klappentext

How should we respond to children's behaviour within early childhood? This book provides a toolbox of strategies with clear explanations of what each strategy is and how it can be used to support young children. Highlighting the importance of responding positively and understanding children's behaviour as communication, it explains key terms and jargon associated with behaviour. Unpicking strategies and terms like rules and boundaries, self-regulation, using "I" statements and emotion coaching, this book uses practical examples and case studies to explain what these mean in practice.

Divided into two parts, the first provides a brief overview of the key terms used when talking about behaviour with supporting examples. Part 2 then looks more broadly at the ethos of the setting and considers how we might promote positive behaviour through policy, the environment, the role of the adult and working in partnership with parents.

Part of the Key Concepts in Early Childhood series, this is essential reading for early years practitioners and students wanting to know and understand why children might behave in certain ways and how they can best support them.
