The Seaside Knitters know Julia well, and her calm efficiency is generally admired--even if she seems to rankle pricklier folks like Mayor Beatrice Scaglia, who's determined to make the rink the crowning jewel of her campaign for the prestigious Governor's Award.

But the festive mood takes a dark turn when Julia is found lying dead in the snow near the rink later that night, gunned down in cold blood. Hoping to find justice for their friend, Nell, Izzy, Cass, and Birdie begin to pull at the threads of her private life . . . where unexpected betrayals and long-held secrets begin piling up like the deepening snow.
