Roy Alexander Farran: Winged Dagger, Gebunden

Klappentext

Bold, behind-the-lines commando warfare unfolds through daring feats, escapes, and rapid adaptation that shaped elite operations in WWII

Winged Dagger is considered to be one of the most and important accounts of the wartime SAS ever written.

An eccentric and charismatic officer, Roy Farran rose to command an SAS squadron during the Second World War. His classic account of the early years of the SAS became an immediate bestseller when it was first published. Covering action throughout the Middle East, the Mediterranean and Italy, this is the story of how Farran was captured, escaped and went on to lead some of the most daring operations of the war far behind enemy lines. Farran was instrumental in pioneering behind-the-lines commando tactics in Europe and had tremendous success in fighting ahead of the allies' push back into Europe. The book is a classic volume which demonstrates the fast learning curve required in the heat of battle.

This new edition of Farran's memoir, published by Pen & Sword Military, contains a forward from author Damien Lewis.
