Biografie
Franz Volhard, DI, Architekt und Städtebauarchitekt, BDA, studierte an der TH Darmstadt. Danach arbeitete er als freier Mitarbeiter für das Büro George Candilis. 1983 gründete er gemeinsam mit DI Arch., BDA, Ute Schauer das Büro Schauer + Volhard. Es folgten Lehraufträge u.a. an der FH Frankfurt und an der École d'Architecture in Grenoble. Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind ökologisches Bauen und Forschungstätigkeiten zu historischen u. innovativen Lehmbautechniken. 1999/2008 war er Mitverfasser der Lehmbau Regeln, herausgegeben vom Dachverband Lehm (DVL) Weimar, zu dessen Gründungsmitgliedern er zählt.
