​There is a slower America still living in the folds of these mountains--found down gravel roads, past leaning barns, where fog settles into the hollows like it has nowhere else to be. This collection, from a photographer with over a dozen published books, turns away from the cities entirely and follows the back roads through Appalachia's quieter corners.

A snow-dusted ridge fades into winter haze. A fence line curves along a pond beneath blazing autumn color. An alligator drifts low through a sun-dappled swamp, black bears doze in autumn oaks, and an elk noses through berries and yellow leaves. Old mills, country churches, and covered bridges stand as patient witnesses to seasons passing.

Unhurried, weathered, and wild--this is Appalachia as it has always been, waiting to be seen.
