Biography
Antal Szerb, geboren 1901 in Budapest, Studium der Hungarologie, Germanistik und Anglistik. Promotion 1924. Ab 1937 Literaturprofessor an der Universität in Szeged. Ab 1934 Buchveröffentlichungen, u. a. eine Literaturgeschichte der Welt. Der Autor verstarb 1945 im KZ Balf in West-Ungarn.
