Walter Scott Murch, 1943 geboren in New York, ist Cutter, Sound-Designer, Regisseur und Drehbuchautor. Bei Filmen wie American Graffiti, den drei Teilen des Paten, der Unerträglichen Leichtigkeit des Seins, dem Englischen Patienten und dem Talentierten Mr. Ripley war er für Ton und Schnitt verantwortlich.
