Coproduziert von Steel-Gitarrist Cindy Cashdollar (bekannt durch ihre Arbeit mit Asleep at the Wheel, Ryan Adams und Bob Dylan) und Billy Lee Myers (Tontechniker bei Austin City Limits Television), ist „Old-Fashioned Gal“ die zweite Veröffentlichung von The Carper Family.
Ihr neues Album enthält 6 Eigenkompositionen sowie Stücke von Songwriter-Kollegen und Covers von Neil Young, Larry Sparks und Floyd Tillman. Der Sound auf „Old-Fashioned Gal“ wurde zudem mit den Gastauftritten von Bill Kirchen, Brennen Leigh, Lisa Pankratz und Cindy Cashdollar erweitert und schafft ein Spektrum zwischen tiefempfundenen Country-Songs über frechen Swing bis hin zu treibendem Bluegrass.
The Carper Family’s 2011er Debüt „Black When“ erhielt die Auszeichnung „Best Country Album“ bei den 11. Annual Independent Music Awards.
