Im Oktober 1987 endete nach monatelanger Reise Peter Gabriels „So“-Tour im stimmungsvollen Open-Air-Theater des Stadtbergs Lykabettus oberhalb Athens. Die drei Nächte waren die ersten Konzerte, für die Gabriel seine Dreherlaubnis gab.
Die Show wurde damals brillant gefilmt und nun ebenso brillant remastert, eine kristallklare Aufnahme von Gabriel und seiner Band inmitten ihres Achtzigerjahre-Pomps mit Hits wie „Sledgehammer“, „Games Without Frontiers“, „Biko“, „Shock The Monkey“, „Don’t Give Up“, „Solsbury Hill“, „In Your Eyes“ oder auch „Mercy Street“.
Der Betrachter befindet sich mitten im Herzen des Treibens, beginnend mit der synchronen Band-Performance des Openers „This Is The Picture“. Dazwischen versinkt der Zuschauer geradezu in der Musik, wird vom Spektakel gefesselt und von der fabelhaften Homogenität der Band restlos überzeugt.
Das Bonusmaterial zeigt Youssou N’Dour und seine Band Le Super Etoile de Dakar als Opener des Abends, persönlich vorgestellt von Peter Gabriel, dazu ein Interview mit Paul Gambaccini und Peter Gabriel aus dem Jahr 1986 sowie das offizielle Promovideo zu „Sledgehammer“, erstmals in HD-Qualität.
Auf Disc 2 gibt es 23 bahnbrechende Promovideos von Peter Gabriel, eine Live-Performance von „Games Without Frontiers“ aus dem Jahr 2004, die originalen Promovideos von „Modern Love“ (1977) und „The Nest That Sailed The Sky“ (2000) sowie die Trailer zu „A Family Portrait“, „Growing Up Live“ und „Secret World Live“.
