Pepper" ein weiteres Nummer 1-Album vor. Doch bereits ein Jahr vorher hatte Bob Dylan „Blonde On Blonde“ veröffentlicht: das inspirierte Doppelalbum glänzte mit ebenso schlichten wie genialen Folkpop-Perlen. Unterstützt von berühmten Kollegen wie Robbie Robertson, Joe South und Al Kooper entwickelte Dylan aus seinen Kompositionen so unvergängliche Evergreens wie „Rainy Day Women #12 & #35“, „I Want You“, „Just Like A Woman“ und „Most Likely You Go Your Way“.
