Nina Simone (1933-2003) war eine legendäre Jazz-Sängerin und -Pianistin. Man kann heute wenig über Nina Simone sagen, was nicht schon bekannt ist, sie machte seit den späten 50er Jahren Schallplatten mit Titeln, die den jeweiligen Zeitgeist widerspiegeln: sie klangen niemals überholt oder altmodisch.
