Die Paare Mike und Sabine sowie Jürgen und Eva wollen einen Abenteuerurlaub auf dem idyllischen Wunderlehof verbringen, einem kleinen Holzhaus im Schwarzwald. Fernab der Zivilisation gibt es keinerlei Komfort, nur einen alten, defekten Fernsehapparat. Der sendet bald dubiose Signale, die bei den zwei Paaren Wahnvorstellungen auslösen. Man kocht eine Suppe aus Knollenblätterpilzen und massakriert einen harmlosen Wanderer. Die Erkenntnis, dass der Voreigentümer der Hütte in der Anstalt gelandet ist und seine tote Tochter als dämonische Übermittlerin der Halluzinationen fungiert, kommt zu spät.
