Diese DVD wurde im festlichen Ambiente des Köthener Schlosses aufgezeichnet, wo der Komponist selbst einst als Kapellmeister bei Hofe diente. Das Freiburger Barockorchester folgt "historisch korrekt" dem Vorbild Bachs und seines damaligen Orchesters, indem es im Spiegelsaal Aufstellung nimmt, und beweist sich einmal mehr als Spitzenensemble - ist es doch "vermutlich das beste Barockorchester der Welt", wie GRAMOPHONE urteilt.
