Dieses Album wurde ursprünglich als »Joni Mitchell« veröffentlicht, da die LP-Cover falsch bedruckt waren und ein Teil des Titels »Song to a Seagull« abgeschnitten wurde. Das Abschneiden, sowie die Tatsache, dass die Verleger bei Reprise Records nicht bemerkten, dass die Vögel den Albumnamen buchstabierten, verursachten den gleichnamigen Albumtitel.
Ein großartiges Album mit einem völlig neuen Sound in der Folkmusik.
