Symphonie Nr.4
The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Anton Bruckners vierte Sinfonie ist die einzige, die der Komponist selbst mit einem Beinamen versah, der von seinem Umfeld aufgegriffen wurde und noch bis heute Bestand hat: "Die Romantische". Wie schon die Dritte, hat Bruckner auch diese Sinfonie mehrfach umgearbeitet, bis hin zu völlig verschiedenen Versionen des 3. und 4. Satzes. Herbert Blomstedt entschied sich im Jahre 2010 für die 1953 im Rahmen der Bruckner-Gesamt-Ausgabe von Leopold Nowak edierte Fassung von 1878 / 80.
