Most of the times you would not think about the soundtrack before shooting a movie. You already have enough on your mind anyways: finding the right motives, casting the actors, setting the budget and shooting schedule and then sticking to it. So why wrack one’s brains with tomorrow’s problems? You normally start thinking about the ? music while you are already in the cutting process. But not with PALERMO SHOOTING. Here, from the beginning on, the music was part of it all, even more: it was the base, and already existed before there even was a screenplay. Ultimately it was the reason I made up this character of the photographer Finn and this whole story. (Wim Wenders / cityslang. com)
