Die 7-CD Edition bekannter Haydn Sinfonien enthält neben den berühmten "Pariser Sinfonien" (Nr. 82 - 87), die hier auf 2 CDs vertreten sind, auch die "Trauer-Symphonie", die "Abschiedssymphonie" und viele weitere. Somit geben die hier vorliegenden 21 Sinfonien eine gute Übersicht über das sinfonische Schaffen Joseph Haydns (1732-1809). Das kanadische Alte-Musik Ensemble Tafelmusik spielt auf den Aufnahmen, die alle in DDD vorliegen und mit dem Super Bit Mapping Verfahren remastered wurden, auf historischen Instrumenten. Geleitet wurde das Orchester von Bruno Weil, der sich im Repertoire der Wiener Klassik durch sein langjähriges Engagement an der Wiener Staatsoper besonders gut auskennt. Bruno Weil und Tafelmusik setzen die ausgewählten, oftmals recht originellen Sinfonien mit ihrer lebendig-dynamischen und fein ausbalancierten Interpretation ins rechte Licht. Die Klangwiedergabe ist unübertroffen transparent und natürlich. Eine Referenzaufnahme!
Einziger, aber bei diesem günstigen Preis verschmerzlicher Schwachpunkt: Es fehlt jegliches Booklet.
