»Coming from Reality« ist das zweite und (bis heute) letzte Studioalbum von Sänger und Songwriter Rodriguez, das 1971 bei Sussex Records veröffentlicht wurde.
Durch den Erfolg seines Debütalbums »Cold Fact« Ende der 90er machte sich Rodriguez in Südafrika und Australien einen großen Namen, blieb aber in seiner Heimat USA relativ unbekannt. Dies änderte sich mit der Neuauflage seiner Alben in den USA in den Jahren 2008 und 2009 und noch weiter 2012 mit dem Oscar-prämierten Dokumentarfilm Searching for Sugar Man, der bald zu Auftritten in großen amerikanischen Fernsehsendungen wie 60 Minutes und David Letterman führte.
Back in 1971, Coming From Reality was Rodriguez's last gasp, the follow-up to Cold Fact and the final album he was allowed to record for the Sussex label. Unearthed, once again by Light In The Attic Records, it's another treat for fans new and old, designed - at the time - as Rodriguez's vision of a perfect pop album.
