SOMM hat dieses Projekt mit großer Begeisterung begonnen – Joubert feiert im März 2007 seinen 80. Geburtstag. Musikliebhabern ist Joubert kein Unbekannter. Er ist ein produktiver Komponist, dessen Weihnachtslied Torches, ein kleines Juwel, in der gesamten christlichen Welt zu einem Favoriten geworden ist.

Die erste unserer beiden CDs ist Jouberts Kammermusik gewidmet, mit einer hervorragenden Aufführung seines 2. Streichquartetts durch das Brodsky Quartett. Die zweite CD enthält die Lyrische Fantasie von Mark Bebbington und die drei Klaviersonaten von John McCabe.
