Zum ersten Mal nach 45 Jahren erscheint bei CHANDOS eine englische Fassung von Bachs monumentaler Johannespassion, und es ist gleichzeitig die erste Zusammenarbeit des Labels mit dem Crouch End Festival Chorus, der zu den bekanntesten und profiliertesten symphonischen Chören des Inselkönigreichs zählt und mit seinen zahlreichen Konzerten das Publikum begeistert.
Zusammen mit der Bach Camerata unter der Leitung von David Temple steuert der hundert Mitglieder umfassende Chor einen weiteren bedeutenden und selten gehörten Teil zur Diskografie dieses Meisterwerkes bei, das von Neil Jenkins eigens für den Chor neu ediert und übersetzt wurde.
